Meet the Team

SPIRIT (#25547) is a student-led FIRST Tech Challenge team from Astana, Kazakhstan, based at the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren.

Since 2023, we've designed, built and programmed our robots from scratch, earned Inspire and Reach awards, and competed at two Central Asia Championships. Beyond the robot, we use FTC to grow as engineers and give back to our community.

  • Diar, CaptainCaptain

  • Darina, InspireInspire

    Darina

Leads our Inspire Award push: the engineering portfolio, judging interviews and outreach.

  • Khamza, Main BuilderMain Builder

    Khamza

Heads the build, turning CAD into a competition-ready robot.

  • Bekzhan, BuilderBuilder

    Bekzhan

Assembles, tunes and repairs mechanisms from the drivetrain up.

  • Sultanali, BuilderBuilder

    Sultanali

Builds and maintains the robot's mechanisms, keeping every part match-ready.

  • Nurassyl, CoderCoder

SYS-01 // Drivetrain

High-torque Mecanum drive with odometry pods & gyro PID stabilization.

Four independently driven mecanum wheels give us true holonomic control: strafe, rotate and translate at the same time. Dead-wheel odometry pods and the IMU fuse into a field-relative pose, and a PID heading lock keeps the chassis on line under contact.

Our Awards

FIRST judged awards recognize the whole team: the robot, the engineering process and the impact we make off the field. Click a certificate to see it full size.

04 // Outreach

Igniting STEM beyond the field

The robot is the tool; people are the mission. We run workshops, mentor younger teams and publish what we build so the next generation of engineers starts further ahead.

  • COMMUNITY

    STEM Workshops

Hands-on robotics sessions at schools, libraries and community events. Kids drive real robots, wire their first motors and write their first lines of code.

    • Live robot demos
    • Intro to coding
    • Build challenges
  • MENTORSHIP

    Mentoring Younger Teams

We coach FIRST LEGO League and rookie FTC teams through design reviews, programming help and scrimmage practice.

    • FLL coaching
    • Rookie FTC support
    • Practice scrimmages
  • OPEN SOURCE

    Open-Source CAD & Code

Our CAD models, robot code and build notes are published so any team can learn from what we build, and improve on it.

    • Public CAD releases
    • Robot code on GitHub
    • Build guides
